  "textContent": "BANNU: At least eight suspected militants were killed and a police official was martyred during an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Saturday.\n\nAccording to the City Police Officer (CPO), police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel launched the joint raid in the Miryan police station area of Bannu on a tip-off.\n\nPolice said that an exchange of fire broke out during the operation, resulting in the killing of eight militants, while several others were injured. One police official was martyred and another wounded in the gunbattle.\n\nThe CPO said that the area was cordoned off after the operation as security forces conducted a search operation to clear any remaining threats.\n\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed praised the operation, describing it as successful and crediting police and CTD personnel for their response.\n\nHe said that “every attack by hostile elements will be responded to firmly,” adding that operations against militant groups would continue across the province.\n\nThe IGP said that police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were on the frontline in protecting the life and property of citizens.\n\nHe also announced rewards for the police team involved in the Bannu operation in recognition of their performance, according to an official statement.\n\nThe post Eight militants killed, police official martyred in Bannu operation appeared first on HUM News English.",
