LAHORE: Pakistan have recalled Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Sufyan Moqim for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, while Mohammad Rizwan and Faheem Ashraf have been left out of the 16-member squad announced on Friday.

Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue as captain, with Salman Ali Agha serving as vice-captain, as Pakistan begin preparations for the series scheduled in Rawalpindi and Lahore from May 30 to June 4.

The squad also includes three uncapped players in the ODI format – Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas and wicketkeeper-batter Rohail Nazir – as the PCB continues to test emerging talent ahead of a packed international calendar.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir have been named as the two wicketkeeper-batters in the squad. Usman Khan was not considered due to illness.

Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were also unavailable for selection as they continue rehabilitation programmes under the PCB medical panel after injuries.

The 16-member squad will assemble in Islamabad on Friday and begin training under the coaching staff from Saturday. Australia are scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Saturday ahead of the series.
