PM hosts Prince Rahim Aga Khan, highlights long-standing ties with AKDN

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday hosted a ceremony in honour of Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to continue its partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) across key social and development sectors. The prime minister said that AKDN had played an “effective role” in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, praising its long-standing contribution to health, education and community development in remote regions. Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the late Prince Karim Aga Khan, acknowledging his seven decades of services and humanitarian contributions in Pakistan. As a gesture of goodwill, the prime minister presented a commemorative postage stamp issued by Pakistan Post in recognition of the Aga Khan’s services.
