  "textContent": "KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Tuesday inaugurated an urban forest project along Shahrah-e-Bhutto and EBM Causeway.\n\nHe said that 10,000 trees have already been planted under a drive aimed at improving the city’s environment and air quality.\n\nWahab said the tree plantation campaign had been accelerated as part of efforts to tackle rising environmental challenges and reduce air pollution in Pakistan’s largest city.\n\nHe said the urban forest initiative would serve as an important milestone in improving Karachi’s environmental conditions and increasing oxygen levels in the city.\n\n“We are planting trees to improve oxygen levels in Karachi,” Wahab said addressing the inauguration ceremony.\n\nhttps://twitter.com/murtazawahab1/status/2056349211038527517?s=20\n\nThe Karachi mayor said that the project would help mitigate the impacts of climate change and contribute to making Karachi a greener city through practical, on-ground interventions.\n\nHe said that plantation of neem, gulmohar and other seasonal tree species was ongoing along Shahrah-e-Bhutto as part of the phased project.\n\nWahab said that the urban forest would also create a more natural habitat for birds and wildlife in the area.\n\nAccording to the Karachi mayor, the plantation drive on Shahrah-e-Bhutto will be completed in phases as part of broader urban greening efforts across the city.\n\nThe post Karachi mayor inaugurates urban forest project on Shahrah-e-Bhutto appeared first on HUM News English.",
