  "textContent": "ISLAMABAD: Two suspected members of robbery gang were injured during an exchange of fire when their accomplices opened fire on police teams, Islamabad police said.\n\nAccording to an Islamabad police spokesperson, teams from Sabzi Mandi and Noon police stations were taking under-custody suspects to identify and arrest their accomplices when the incident occurred.\n\nPolice said that armed accomplices hiding nearby opened “indiscriminate fire” on the police parties in an attempt to free the detained suspects.\n\nThe police teams remained unharmed due to bulletproof jackets and other security measures, the spokesperson said.\n\nHowever, the detained suspects were injured as a result of firing by their own associates, police said.\n\nAmong the injured suspects is a man identified as Suleman, who is an Afghan national, according to police.\n\nThe injured were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.\n\nPolice said the suspects were wanted in cases of robbery, street crime and other serious offences.\n\nA search operation has been launched to arrest the fleeing accomplices involved in the attack, police added.\n\nThe post Islamabad police say two suspected robbers injured in firing by accomplices appeared first on HUM News English.",
