  "textContent": "GILGIT (APP): Security and logistical preparations have been intensified ahead of a visit by Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V, the spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili community, to Gilgit-Baltistan.\n\nAuthorities have mobilised federal and regional resources ahead of his arrival later this month.\n\nOfficials said the visit, scheduled from May 21 to May 25, would be accorded state guest status. During his trip, Prince Rahim Aga Khan is expected to visit multiple areas across Gilgit-Baltistan, attend public gatherings and address ceremonies.\n\nPrince Rahim Aga Khan V formally assumed the role of the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims on February 11, 2025, following the death of his predecessor and father, Imam Shah Karim al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, who died on February 4, 2025.\n\nMinister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam was briefed on arrangements during a meeting on Friday.\n\nOfficials said large gatherings were expected in Passu Cones in Hunza, Gilgit city, Gahkuch Bala, Taus Yasin and Ishkoman. The administration is considering holding multiple sessions at some venues to manage crowd sizes, officials told the minister.\n\nFor security and transport, the federal government has also been requested to provide a bulletproof vehicle for the state guest. Authorities have further recommended opening Babusar Road as an alternative route and placing the National Highway Authority on alert at sensitive points.\n\nPolice and the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) have been assigned special responsibilities for road improvements, traffic management and security along the Karakoram Highway from Nasirabad Bridge to Sost Dry Port.\n\nOfficials said instructions had also been issued to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Upper Hunza and adjoining areas during the visit.\n\nAdditional transport arrangements are being made for visitors, along with relaxation in travel timings to facilitate movement across the region.\n\nThe meeting was attended by the GB chief secretary, administrative secretaries, law enforcement officials and representatives of the Ismaili Regional Council.\n\nAga Khan Regional Council representatives expressed satisfaction over the arrangements, while the minister assured full federal government cooperation.\n\nThe post Security, logistics plans intensified ahead of Prince Rahim Aga Khan’s G-B visit appeared first on HUM News English.",
