"textContent": "ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Nazir Ahmed Butt has said that the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued red notices for property tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz Malik on the request of Pakistan’s anti-corruption watchdog.\n\nBriefing the media on Wednesday, Butt said that investigations involving more than Rs900 billion against Malik Riaz had been completed.\n\nNAB Director General Operations Amjad Majeed Aulakh said that the anti-graft body recovered Rs89 billion during the previous year and was currently pursuing 37 high-profile money laundering cases.\n\nHe said four money laundering cases had been closed by courts, while 289 references, 205 investigations and 745 inquiries were currently pending.\n\nHe said that between January and March this year, NAB received 8,563 complaints, of which 8,214 were disposed of, while 475 remain under process.\n\nThe NAB officials said that investigations were ongoing into several housing and development projects, including Bahria Town.\n\nHe said land in various areas of Sindh, including Malir, Korangi and Clifton, had been recovered, along with property linked to Gul Ahmed Mills, while more than 900,000 acres of land had been retrieved in Punjab.\n\nA provincial-level task force had been formed to safeguard recovered state land, he added.\n\nThe NAB chairman said investigations in the Bahria Town Karachi case had also included questioning of several politicians, while cases against multiple parliamentarians were under way.\n\nHe said that some cases involving lawmakers had been transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency and other departments for further action.\n\nThe post Interpol issues red notices for Malik Riaz, son on NAB request appeared first on HUM News English.",
