LONDON: The British royal family marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Britain’s late Queen Elizabeth II through a series of commemorative events.
King Charles III, along with his son Prince William and daughter-in-law Catherine, Princess of Wales, took part in engagements held to honour the occasion.

King Charles paid tribute to his “darling mama,” reflecting on Queen Elizabeth II’s life, legacy, and lasting impact. In a televised message, he highlighted her 70-year reign, remembering her warmth, humour, and her “marvellous twinkle of the eye.”
As part of the commemorations, the King also visited the British Museum and supported plans for a national memorial in St James’s Park.

The Princess of Wales, who recently recovered from cancer, joined Prince William in welcoming guests from diverse backgrounds. The couple attended a reception at Buckingham Palace, marking the centenary of Queen Elizabeth’s birth, and received well-wishers for the first time in such an event.
