PSL 11: Rizwan admits poor performance costs Rawalpindiz in defeat

KARACHI: Mohammad Rizwan has admitted that his below-par performance as captain played a key role in Rawalpindiz’s defeat, saying the result might have been different had he delivered on the day. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Rizwan said he accepts responsibility for the loss, adding that there must have been some gap in his effort. “Had I performed as a captain, the team could have won,” he said, terming it a day where luck did not favour him. Rizwan further revealed that Yasir Khan was included in the side with a clear plan in mind. He said he decided to open the innings himself to shield Yasir from the new-ball swing and give him better conditions to play his natural game.
