"textContent": "ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reaffirmed that its long-standing strategic relationship with the United Arab Emirates remains strong and unaffected, rejecting the ongoing speculation about the return of financial deposits to the UAE.\n\nOfficials clarified that the repayment of matured deposits is a routine financial matter under existing bilateral agreements and should not be interpreted as a sign of weakening ties.\n\nPakistan emphasised that the relationship between the two countries spans decades and is rooted in deep strategic, economic, cultural, and religious connections. Both sides continue to engage closely across multiple sectors, reinforcing a partnership built on trust and shared interests.\n\nHistorically, Pakistan has played a key role in supporting the development of the UAE’s defence capabilities, including training armed forces personnel and assisting in the establishment of military training institutions. This defence cooperation remains an important pillar of the bilateral relationship.\n\nEconomic and people-to-people ties further strengthen the bond. Around 1.6 million Pakistanis live and work in the UAE, making it one of the largest expatriate communities in the country. Their contributions have been vital to the UAE’s growth, particularly in infrastructure, construction, and services, while also serving as a bridge between the two nations.\n\nThe relationship is also reinforced by shared cultural and religious values, with frequent exchanges and strong social connections. The UAE continues to be a second home for many Pakistanis, reflecting the depth of mutual trust and familiarity beyond official diplomacy.\n\nRecent developments highlight continued cooperation. In 2024, both countries signed major agreements worth over $3 billion, focusing on infrastructure, logistics, and trade facilitation. High-level engagements in 2025 and 2026 have further underscored their commitment to expanding collaboration in trade, investment, energy, and regional stability.\n\nOfficials stress that routine financial transactions, such as deposit maturities, do not impact the broader strategic partnership. Instead, Pakistan and the UAE remain closely aligned, with a resilient and evolving relationship that continues to contribute to regional stability and long-term cooperation.\n\nThe post Pakistan, UAE strengthen strategic ties amid deposit speculation appeared first on HUM News English.",
