  "textContent": "The United Arab Emirates has strongly criticised Iran’s recent strikes on neighboring Gulf countries, with Minister for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy describing the actions as “almost unhinged” in an interview broadcast Sunday, March 15, on Australia’s ABC News.\n\nAccording to officials, Gulf Arab nations have endured more than 2,000 missile and drone attacks since late February, following military operations by the United States and Israel targeting Iran. Tehran has claimed the strikes are aimed at US assets in the region.\n\nThe UAE, which established diplomatic ties with Israel in 2020, has been among the hardest hit. Al Hashimy called the situation unprecedented, expressing concern that Iran had targeted countries that have consistently urged restraint and de-escalation.\n\nShe also labeled the attacks “irrational” and “unlawful,” alleging that civilian sites such as airports and oil tankers had been struck. UAE authorities say six people have been killed, despite assurances that Emirati territory was not used to launch attacks against Iran.\n\nWhile Gulf countries, including the UAE, host US military bases, Al Hashimy emphasized that the UAE’s partnership with Washington remains strong, built on longstanding trust.
