But Pakistan’s opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub had other plans, putting together a brisk 103-run stand that laid the platform for a competitive total.\n\nThe young Saim Ayub lit up Mirpur with a blazing innings, smashing 75 off just 46 balls, laced with six fours and five towering sixes. His aggressive strokeplay kept Bangladesh on the back foot before he was dismissed with Pakistan well placed.\n\nFakhar Zaman followed soon after, departing for 31 with the score at 121, but Pakistan kept the momentum going through a steady partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha.
