"textContent": "WASHINGTON: Pop superstar Britney Spears was arrested Wednesday night, March 4, in Moorpark, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol pulled her over around 9:30 pm, and she was booked in the early hours of Thursday, around 3 am, at the Ventura County Jail. Spears was released shortly after 6 am Thursday. Her car was impounded during the arrest.\n\nThis comes just days after Spears secured a permanent restraining order against a 51-year-old Louisiana man who had been harassing her online since 2013. According to court documents, the man showed up at her Los Angeles home after posting disturbing messages on social media, and he was arrested for trespassing in 2025. Spears is scheduled to appear in court on May 4 regarding the restraining order.\n\nFollowing her DUI arrest, Spears deleted her Instagram profile. Her last post read: “Song representing fragility, be careful, my friends, when dealing with the queen of hearts.”\n\nThis isn’t Spears’ first legal brush. In 2007, she faced misdemeanour charges after an alleged hit-and-run in Los Angeles, though the case was dropped after she paid for the damages.\n\nIn other recent news, Spears sold her music catalogue in late 2025 to independent publisher Primary Wave for a reported $200 million. This deal included her biggest hits like …Baby One More Time, Lucky, and Everytime. Spears’ 13-year conservatorship, which ended in 2021, had previously restricted her control over her finances and assets, a situation she described as abusive in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me.\n\nDespite these challenges, Spears continues to make headlines both for her music legacy and her personal life.\n\nThe post Britney Spears released after DUI arrest in California appeared first on HUM News.",
