"textContent": "WEB DESK: The district administration has imposed Section 144 across South Waziristan Upper and South Waziristan Lower amid heightened security concerns and to facilitate the movement of logistical convoys for security forces.\n\nAccording to _Dawn_ , officials said the restrictions are intended to safeguard public safety, preserve law and order, and ensure uninterrupted operational activity by security personnel in the region.\n\nSouth Waziristan Upper Deputy Commissioner Asmatullah Wazir confirmed that Section 144 will remain in force in the tehsils of Sarvekai and Sararogha from 6am to 6pm daily. During these hours, all forms of movement are strictly prohibited, and markets and commercial establishments are to remain closed.\n\nAuthorities have also sealed several key routes, including Makin, Sararogha, Kot Kai and Spinkai Raghzai up to Nazar Khel. The road from Dargai Bridge via Madi Jan, Sheen Warsak and Moley Khan Sarai to Chagmalai has likewise been closed.\n\nResidents have been instructed to halt their vehicles at least 50 metres before approaching security checkpoints and to ensure that passengers disembark if requested by security personnel. The deputy commissioner warned that any breach of the restrictions would render individuals personally liable, stressing that full compliance is mandatory.\n\n#### Restrictions extended to Wana and surrounding areas\n\nIn South Waziristan Lower, Deputy Commissioner Musarat Zaman announced similar measures in various parts of Wana. The 12-hour curfew, in effect from 6am to 6pm, bars all non-essential movement in response to prevailing security threats and ongoing troop movements.\n\nRestricted routes include Wana, Taiarza Gate, Karb Kot, Tanai, and Azizabad Chowk up to Dargai Bridge. Movement will only be permitted in genuine emergencies and subject to prior authorisation from the police or security forces, alongside the presentation of valid identification and travel documentation.\n\nAuthorities have urged residents to adhere strictly to official directives and avoid unnecessary travel. Any violation of the curfew orders will be the sole responsibility of the individual concerned.\n\nThroughout the enforcement period, only pre-approved emergency movement will be allowed in both districts. Markets, shops and commercial centres will remain closed. Officials emphasised that these temporary measures are necessary to maintain sustainable peace, support security operations and ensure the safety of local residents.\n\nThe post Curfew enforced in upper and lower South Waziristan appeared first on HUM News.",
