"textContent": "KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced revised school hours across the province during the holy month of Ramadan.\n\nThe School Education Department of Sindh issued a notification adjusting timings for primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools.\n\nAccording to the notification, single-shift schools will operate from 8am to 12:30pm, while on Fridays they will open from 8am to 11:30 am.\n\nDouble-shift schools will run the first shift from 7:30 am to 11:30 am and the second shift from 11:45 am to 2:45 pm.\n\nThe new schedule will apply to all public and private schools in Sindh.\n\nMeanwhile, the federal government has also announced revised office hours for federal departments during Ramadan.\n\nOffices operating five days a week will work from 9am. to 3pm, Monday to Thursday, and those with six working days will operate from 9am to 2pm, Monday to Thursday.\n\nOn Fridays, all federal offices will remain open from 9am to 12:30 pm.\nThe Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee under the chair of Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad confired the the sighting of the Ramadan moon across Pakistan, announcing the beginning of the holy month from Thursday February 19.\n\nAlong with the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, zonal committees in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Islamabad simultaneously received testimonies and scrutinised moon sighting reports. Alongside the committees, the Ministry of Science and Technology, PMD, and SUPARCO also assisted with the moon sighting process.\n\nThe SUPARCO had already forecast that the crescent for Ramadan 1447 Hijri will be visible on February 18, marking February 19 as the first day of fasting.\n\nThe post Sindh govt announces revised school hours for Ramadan appeared first on HUM News.",
