"textContent": "A sequel to _F1_ , the blockbuster racing film starring Brad Pitt, is officially in development, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed.\n\nSpeaking to the BBC at the Academy Awards luncheon in Los Angeles, Bruckheimer ended months of speculation by revealing that a follow-up to the Apple Original Films hit is already underway.\n\n“We’re working on a sequel,” he said, declining to give a timeline or confirm casting details.\n\nReleased last summer, _F1_  grossed $630 million worldwide, making it Apple Original Films’ most successful theatrical release to date. The film has also received four Academy Award nominations this year, including best picture.\n\nPitt, 62, stars as veteran driver Sonny Hayes, who returns to the Formula 1 grid with fictional team APXGP after a long absence. The film was co-produced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and was shot during the 2023 and 2024 Formula 1 seasons.\n\nScenes were filmed across multiple race weekends, including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, blending real-world Formula 1 action with the film’s storyline.\n\nBruckheimer said Pitt would “of course” be involved in casting decisions but stopped short of confirming whether he would reprise his role in the sequel.\n\nThe producer said he was surprised by the film’s awards recognition following a production period affected by industry strikes.\n\nThe sequel confirmation comes days after Apple executives teased further news during a recent press event, where Formula 1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali told fans to “stay tuned” when asked about a potential follow-up.\n\nBruckheimer also revealed he is developing several other high-profile projects, including _Heat 2_ , another _Days of Thunder_ film, a new _Top Gun_ instalment and another entry in the _Pirates of the Caribbean_ franchise.\n\nThe post Brad Pitt ‘F1’ sequel officially in the works after $630m box office run appeared first on HUM News.",
