"textContent": "ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been diagnosed with a condition affecting vision in his right eye, according to a medical report issued by Islamabad’s Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and seen by HUM News English.\n\nThe report said that the 74-year-old complained of reduced vision in his right eye, after which a senior ophthalmologist from PIMS conducted a comprehensive eye examination at Adiala jail, where Khan is currently incarcerated.\n\nThe assessment included slit lamp examination, fundoscopy, measurement of intraocular pressure, essential laboratory tests and optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the retina, the report said.\n\nBased on the findings, doctors diagnosed Khan with right central retinal vein occlusion and recommended hospital-based follow-up treatment.\n\nAccording to the report, Khan was transferred to PIMS late on Saturday night for the advised procedure.\n\nHospital officials said the treatment plan, including the administration of an anti-VEGF intravitreal injection, was explained in detail to the patient and informed consent was obtained prior to the procedure.\n\nThe medical procedure was carried out in the operation theatre under standard sterile protocols and monitoring and was completed successfully in approximately 20 minutes, the report said.\n\nDuring treatment, Khan remained vitally stable and was later discharged with routine post-procedure care instructions and follow-up advice, according to PIMS report.\n\nHospital authorities said the detailed medical report was forwarded to Adiala jail officials on the directions of the prime minister.\n\nSources said the report has also been shared with Khan’s family.\n\nThe report added that while Khan’s overall health condition was satisfactory, medical specialists confirmed that vision in his right eye had been affected due to the diagnosed condition.\n\nThe post Imran Khan diagnosed with blockage in vein of right eye appeared first on HUM News.",
