On keeping things scrappy…
This isn't my first time starting a blog that lacks particular direction…but this time I want to be directionless with a little more intention than before!
My longest-running blog is a personal WordPress site I started in 2012, where I've posted occasionally over the years. At one point I made an experimental offshoot called Zibaldone, a blog category intended to capture more unfinished fun ideas I wanted to share.
(I actually bought the zibaldon.es domain, too, for a different purpose, but never really used it…but I digress…)
I posted a few notes from my archives, but didn't keep it up; partly too much friction and partly running out of things to publish. But it was fun! I wrote about things like "virtual pop-up shops" and "subscription psychology" and "pocket rocks" and "types of books" and "notes on worlding".
If many of those were idea fragments and research notes, I'm thinking Scraps! will be more…appreciations; celebrations.
Perhaps also: ideas I want to see realized, experiments I want to encourage people to try, things I'm trying to figure out and think through aloud — basically what I think blogging should be, but often have trouble bringing myself to actually write about.
And furthermore: applying new lenses or ways of exploring / engaging with things I've loved / considered for a long time.
All the while: trying to keep it light, casual, and social — the latter increasingly so as we add more social features to Leaflet!

a leaflet poem:
the leaves of lathes*
keep turning
from wreaths and scythes
and fires — burning
we bring alive
the scene
revisions of
new visions — green
crisp as chips
bright as night
alive as knives
falling
testing spotify embeds…
dragged to be smaller
default - on publish, appears smaller
dragged to be bigger
