Magnus Cort announced that he will retire at the end of 2026 on Saturday, the eve of his last ever National Championship road race, a title that has eluded him in 10 past appearances since 2012 – until now. "There were so many emotions going through me in the sprint and then afterwards," Cort said immediately after the finish to his team. "I hadn't dreamed [I could do] it. I tried so many times, but never succeeded. To win here, my last year, that's unbelievable. I've dreamt about getting the national jersey..." he trailed off, to chants of "One more year!" from his teammates gathered behind him. The 33-year-old Dane had the support of a strong seven-rider Uno-X Mobility lineup in winning the national title from a reduced bunch srpint, including Anthon Charmig who finished third. Both are set to start the Tour de France next week. Splitting the teammates was Anders Foldager of Jayco-AlUla.
