"textContent": "Josh Weinberg\n\nIn Suvi's first tech gallery published from this year's Sea Otter Classic, she observed that the event \"felt like a celebration of cycling as much as an industry get-together – and a refreshingly inclusive one at that.\" But just because it was her first time at the show, I don't attribute her sentiments to the novelty of the experience. Rather, in my fifth consecutive and seventh overall time attending, it really did feel exciting again.\n\nI say \"again\" because the past few years have felt like a cloud looms over what should be a celebration of the sport, tech, and culture we all love. Not the literal marine layer that can often settle into the Monterey Peninsula, blanketing Laguna Seca Raceway in a cold and wet fog. But a figurative cloud created by the uncertain and precarious economic reality that many brands, media, and athletes have faced in recent years.\n\nSea Otter 2026 gallery - Parts and accessoriesFrom heated handlebars to ultra-premium Australian wheels, here are the smaller things that caught our eye at Sea Otter 2026.Escape CollectiveSuvi Loponen\n\nThis year truly felt different. I can't pinpoint exactly why, as big wheels and heated handlebars can only move the needle so far, but there seemed to be a renewed sense of optimism that I hope continues through the rest of the season. Now, let's take a look at some of the new bikes and tech I spotted amongst the maze-like expo aisles.\n\n## Wolf Tooth Hubs\n\nWolf Tooth is getting ready to release a collection of hubs. While not available yet, the brand had a few sample sets hidden away in its booth, offering a sneak peak for those who knew to ask.\n\nMachined in its Minnesota factory, the simple yet attractive hub shells will be anodized to match the color options already available across its component line. Laser-etched with a designated hole count and, while exact specs are limited at this time, they were on both gravel and mountain bikes in the booth.\n\nWhat is clear, however, is that the hubs will feature Enve internals. The Innerdrive system features 42 mm steel ratchets located deeper inside the hub shell than in some other designs, for a claimed reduction in force on axle loading that is said to improve bearing life. It offers a range of engagement options, from 40-, 60-, 80-, or 100-tooth ratchets to tune for lower drag or faster engagement, depending on ride preferences. Whether Wolf Tooth will stick to offering just one engagement option or give customers a choice remains unknown.
