Italian up-and-comer Luca Giaimi gets a call-up to join the UAE WorldTour squad

Riders don't often join the WorldTour ranks in February, but UAE-Team Emirates XRG has decided that Luca Giaimi need not spend another minute in the organization's development team. The 21-year-old Italian has been promoted to the WorldTour squad "effective immediately, signing a contract that will see him remain with the team through the end of the 2028 season." Giaimi enjoyed solid results in UAE's Gen Z team and also apparently impressed his employers in appearances with the WorldTour squad at the end of last season and the start of this one. "We hope and trust that he can continue progressing both as a rider and as a person as he makes this transition to the highest level," said team boss Mauro Gianetti.
