Fire Clearance
If it’s all flat, it’s no fun

They’ve been doing brush clearance up on Mt. Lukens the last few weeks. This makes the fire road super unpleasant to ride on (large sticks everywhere), but it does mean there are now an assortment of sight lines that never existed before. This view, looking down on Grizzly Flat Trail, is brand new. I don’t remember this sort of brush clearance ever happening up here before, but given last year’s fires, I’m guessing they’re experimenting and trying everything they can (*or rather, whatever they’re poor funding allows) to prevent that from happening again.
