A few posts recently have been a part of an informal experiment after the Google Analytics AI/LLM suggested a few blog titles that it thinks would be popular to the sort of people that read this blog - you, it's talking about you.

Over the past few weeks I've posted the following, all content created by Google Gemini AI/LLM:

  • The Top 5 Historical Events You Probably Got Wrong
  • Logical Fallacies:
    • 5 Common Logical Fallacies and How to Spot Them
    • 5 MORE Common Logical Fallacies and How to Spot Them
  • Famous Last Words: A Collection of Wit and Wisdom

Apparently these four are part of a series that:

Based on the topics that have resonated with your audience in the past, here are a few suggestions for new blog post titles that could also generate high traffic ...

I shan't be doing any more of the suggestions, they're not really what interests me - although, "The Science of Laughter" does deserve a little digging so who knows.

The experiment was to see if they would become popular, and you can check it out by looking at the bottom of the page - do they appear?

I shared the first post, The Top 5 Historical Events You Probably Got Wron g, extensively and it's true to say it scratched an itch for quite a few readers. It's also featured high in Google for "events you probably got wrong", in fact first result (for me in private / incognito mode).

The others are also doing 'well'. I have sporadically shared them but will crack into the final one with social media gusto next month, just to see if it makes a difference.

I can certainly see why many websites that rely on advertising income are pumping out AI/LLM created / augmented content. That's all it is though, content to get eyeballs to generate income never from any human passion to discover and share. The blog posts all feel like bland blancmange content that serves no-one and slops their way over the good stuff.

These titles are designed to be attention-grabbing and appeal to a broad audience, similar to your previously successful articles. By creating high-quality content around these topics, you can increase your chances of attracting more visitors to your blog.

I'd say "high-quality content" is out of the reach of AI/LLM at the moment, let's see what 2027 brings though.
