"textContent": "WorldSBK To Move From Phillip Island To The Bend In 2028\n\nAfter previously announcing that MotoGP will be leaving Phillip Island at the end of 2026, now WorldSBK will follow suit. 2027 will be the final year of the WorldSBK series at Phillip Island, the production-based series moving its Australian round to The Bend Motorsport Park, some 90 kilometers southeast of Adelaide, Australia.\n\nThe impending move has been long reported, but today was the official confirmation. It is also a coup for the South Australia premier Peter Malinauskas. Malinauskas, together with Sam Shahin, were instrumental in taking MotoGP from Phillip Island in Victoria, and now they have secured WorldSBK as well.\n\nThe loss of Phillip Island will be lamented in the World Superbike paddock. The circuit was always the opening round of the season, and preceded by a test there. As a result, WorldSBK could enjoy a much longer sojourn at the circuit overlooking the sea. A two-week stay at Tailem Bend does not quite hold the same appeal.\n\nDavid Emmett Fri, 19/Jun/2026 - 13:07\n\n * Read more about WorldSBK To Move From Phillip Island To The Bend In 2028\n * 2 comments\n * * Log in or register to post comments\n\n",
