"textContent": "Mugello MotoGP Friday Round Up: Red Flags, Confusion, And Returning From Injury\n\nWhere do thing stand after the first day at Mugello? Friday was such a peculiar day that it is almost impossible to say. Sure, there are five Ducatis in the top six, something you might reasonably expect at the Italian circuit. But weather conditions in the morning and two red flags in the afternoon caused so much disruption that it is impossible to draw too many conclusions.\n\nYes, Fabio Di Giannantonio did an impressively quick lap. But the fact he is still grappling with an injury to his left pinkie finger meant he didn't do many laps in a row. Yes, Pecco Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi posted a pretty decent race pace. But two red flags broke up their long runs and time attacks, and it's hard to tell how representative those laps are.\n\nThe day started with a bunch of riders sitting in the pits. Heavy overnight rain had left the track damp, though by the time MotoGP took to the track there was a clear and wide dry line, the track only wet well outside of the line. The riders coming off an injury - Marc Márquez, Fabio Di Giannantonio, for example - sat out the first ten minutes to test the conditions.\n\nOr rather, to let others test the conditions. It's easy to decide just how safe the track surface is. You sit in the pits and watch others go out, and if nobody crashes, you know it's fine. Nobody crashed, so Márquez, Di Giannantonio, and the returning Cal Crutchlow tried their luck on the track.\n\n**Working it out**\n\nDavid Emmett Sat, 30/May/2026 - 00:05\n\n * Read more about Mugello MotoGP Friday Round Up: Red Flags, Confusion, And Returning From Injury\n * Log in or register to post comments\n\n",
