2026 Balaton Park World Superbike Superpole Race Result: Chaos Brings Red Flag, Eight Laps Ensue With the grid returned to normal, the World Superbike Superpole race gave riders the opportunity to make up for an unusual qualifying session yesterday. Ten laps of the short circuit at 19ºC would decide the grid for this afternoon's race. Yari Montella was the first to hit turn one but he overshot the braking marker and Nicolo Bulega lost positions as chaos ensued. A few riders closed their lines after strange entries, Miguel Oliveira avoiding Iker Lecuona in front of him, pushing Locatelli off his line. and Locatelli closed back to recover the correct line, but the gap had a Sam Lowes in it and he hit the Ducati and crashed out, taking Oliveira out. Oliveira was hit by both bikes as he was on the asphalt and the red flags were brought out. Locatelli and Oliveira were both conscious and Locatelli got his Yamaha back to the garage as Oliveira was put on a stretcher and taken to the medical centre for a checkup.
