Maverick Viñales Out For Jerez, Hopeful For Le Mans
Maverick Viñales will not race at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez. The Tech3 KTM rider is still recovering from the aftermath of the injury he suffered in a big qualifying crash at the Sachsenring last year. That injury saw him miss seven rounds last year, as well as both races in Germany. Viñales started the season off well, but a screw holding his shoulder together worked its way loose at Austin, forcing him to withdraw from the US round at the Circuit Of The Americas.
Viñales had successful surgery to remove the screw, and has been working on his recovery ever since. However, he is still not fit enough to compete at Jerez, and has taken the decision to skip his home round at Jerez. The Spaniard is aiming to make a return at the French Grand Prix at Le Mans, set to take place from 8th-10th May.
