1. Canada will be confirmed as a participant for next season, the confirmation will come in the weeks after this competition, end of May to early June.

Not explicitly a "We are doing Eurovision 2027" yet, but Canada have become a full member of the EBU.

The vote to promote CBC/Radio-Canada to full Member followed a revision to the EBU’s Statutes, also approved by the General Assembly today. The revised framework opens extra-European Membership to broadcasting organizations from countries with a public service media system aligned with core Council of Europe standards and formal observer status with the Council of Europe. Canada meets both criteria.

Can they now simply go "we're going to participate in Eurovision". Or is there still a formal petition of "pls invite us, we're official now"? Fun if anyone in the EBU can just go "yeah, we're doing Eurovision. Give us a slot in next years competition", and thats that.
