I still haven't heard more than Finland and Sweden, so I can only judge Sweden's P20 in the light of our previous entries. My System was not this bad. It's far better than "Voices", which finished 14th in 2021. I'd put it in line with "Unforgettable", which finished 9th when he last hosted after Loreen's second win. P9-P12 would have been fair.

Bulgaria is not Israel, so there is that. Interesting to see that Israel failed to win the televote for the first time since their invasion of Gaza in 2023. Perhaps the revamped rules did help cushion the political voting, albeit not enough.

Words already coming out about Belgium being hesitant to participate in 2027 unless a vote on Israel's participation is being held.

Ready for this one, Adam?

A close friend of mine has informed of three things about the 2027 contest, and he is usually not wrong about these things.

  1. Canada will be confirmed as a participant for next season, the confirmation will come in the weeks after this competition, end of May to early June.
  2. Out of the 6 boycotters from this year, only one has indicated they intend to stay out of the contest if Israel remains. That is Spain. All the others have indicated they expect to return for 2027, unless circumstances change further regarding Israel.
  3. Hungary is expected to return for 2028, but this could be shuffled to 2027 depending on political development in the country. They last competed back in 2019 before leaving the competition due to it's "LGBTQ+ propaganda".

My friend told me on Friday, one day before the finals, that Bulgaria are already gearing up to host. This was due to the fact they won their semi final. As it turns out, after the contest when all the votes were released, this rumour was confirmed with Bulgaria winning SF2 with more than 40 points over Romania. So I do believe his sources!
