If you play multiplayer, with multiple players sharing a single company, you can do what you are describing, however that's not 'Infrastructure Sharing' really. JGRPP is one of the most popular patch-packs for OpenTTD and features Infrastructure Sharing - many features, over the years, have been back-ported from JGRPP into the 'official' releases of OpenTTD. As yet, Infrastructure Sharing is just one of many that have yet to achieve that.

For now, Infrastructure Sharing is unlikely to be coming to the 'main'/official version of OpenTTD for a while yet - If someone is motivated enough to port the code from JGRPP (or another patch pack), then it could happen. As the OpenTTD dev team (who are ALL volunteers) have no formalised 'roadmap' of features they want/intend to implement, it's up to one of them getting 'inspired' enough to make a go at it or a motivated member of the public volunteering the work for inclusion in the codebase.
