"textContent": "For the past three years I've been writing a series of books aimed at youth in late-primary and early-secondary school, detailing what life is like for train-focused kids, particularly with autism, adhd, or a combination of both. I have one completed story of 80k words, and several more that I'm slowly continuing to work on whenever inspiration strikes.\n\nMy reason for this topic is because I've been sending my work to practically every literary agent or publisher I can find that is open to this theme of submissions, but I was just wondering if anyone might know of anything in particular about this sort of pursuit. My first story is titled \"Trains And Training Wheels\", set in 2005 and telling the tale of an eleven-year old boy named Robin Brush as he makes a new friend in the form of seven-year old Timothy Button, and the perils of such a friendship with a big age gap and other elements in Robin's life that make his life turbulent and overwhelming, yet also how he finds comfort in trains and just being a big brother figure in Timothy's life.\n\nThe second story - currently about half-done - is a sequel to this called \"Sixes And Sevens\", taking place in 2006 and 2007 it continues the saga with eight-year old Timothy longing for more independence. Meanwhile twelve-year old Robin struggles with numerous changes in his life, including how he wants Timothy to stay exactly as he is. More conflicts take place, but this time mostly within his own family rather than at school.\n\nSo as I've said earlier, I'd really like to find a way to get these stories (particularly the completed one) into print so that others can read and enjoy my work. I'd prefer to avoid self-publishing, and the primary audience for these stories will be in the UK although I live on 'the other side of the pond'.\n\nStatistics: Posted by harrydouthwaite — 28 Mar 2026 18:42\n\n* * *",
