Has this been clarified? Do the TTD bundle sales on Steam contribute to server costs, thus it's dependent on people buying the game there?

As I mentioned on GitHub I think, we don’t receive any income from Steam sales. Atari made a generous donation which was agreed before these changes went live. We do however greatly value all contributions made by users - they’re not insignificant and do help cover the costs of our server infrastructure. Until this month, our funds were quite low and we would have been looking to do a fundraiser, but between Atari’s contribution and the donations from players we should be good for another year now at least.
