General OpenTTD • Re: OpenTTD - Steam and GOG

It's not that there are new - and possibly conflicting - OpenTTD versions published every couple of days or weeks, but rather one major release every year or two, plus a few minor updates inbetween - so why the hell do you need an automatic system for this when simply downloading, unpacking, and running from this site takes only a minute or so?!?

It's surprisingly hard to get an old version from openttd website. And as a server owner and developer of the patch pack I'm drowning in different versions of openttd. So sometimes it's much more convenient to just start steam and select whatever version I need than search discord for that obscure link to the page with old versions.
