General OpenTTD • OpenTTD - Steam and GOG

So, I've randomly come across this 'news' that TTD has been released for purchase on Steam and on GOG, and that now OpenTTD is considered a mod of TTD (which it isn't), unless you already have OpenTTD in your library on these platforms, you have to purchase TTD before you can access OpenTTD. I've done some checking, and indeed on GOG, OpenTTD is listed as a mod for TTD. Steam doesn't show this, (yet), nor are there any posts about it on the OpenTTD website or Steam page. https://www.gog.com/en/game/openttd : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1536610/OpenTTD/

This seems unusual that something has gone down without the OpenTTD community knowing about and posting about it.

Anyone know anything about this?
