This is a really good idea, probably deserves a thread of its own since it wasn't affected by version 15.

What would be really useful, assuming it's possible with the existing map generation function, is if you could tweak values like land height/distribution/smoothness without blowing away the entire map. That way, you can re-roll until you find a map with decent coastlines, then refine the remaining parameters.
