"textContent": "> I imagine that may have been the quickest you have ever placed an order\n\nIt was pretty quick! And today an engineer came out to take a look at things. Our current phone socket is in the middle of the house, and it's not entirely clear how it gets from the duct on the street to the house. We couldn't find anything obvious, so following the existing cable route doesn't appear to be an option. However he thinks it should be straightforward to run a small duct from the street through the garden (ideally the soil by the side rather than digging up the grass, but we'll see what happens) and have it come into the house by the living room. Not necessarily my first choice for where it would come in, but luckily I had Ethernet run last summer to a few rooms, including the living room, so things would still be workable. So now we need to wait for that, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.\n\nStatistics: Posted by orudge — 20 Feb 2026 13:48\n\n* * *",
