OpenTTD Problems • Re: Annoying changes in 15.0's new UI

Entrenchment of mindset is unavoidable in a project that's been around as long as OTTD, as is driving off anyone who potentially wants to make a difference. People don't join OSS projects to change or do nothing; they are going to bring in ideas they are passionate about and that just runs into the brick wall of people who have been doing it a certain way for decades.

All of what we see here is the result of devs really just wanting to build a wall around themselves so they can do what they feel like and more importantly not do anything they don't feel like.
