OpenTTD Problems • Re: Annoying changes in 15.0's new UI

Entrenchment of mindset is unavoidable in a project that's been around as long as OTTD, as is driving off anyone who potentially wants to make a difference. People don't join OSS projects to change or do nothing; they are going to bring in ideas they are passionate about and that just runs into the brick wall of people who have been doing it a certain way for decades.

To be fair, the OpenTTD team doesn't have this particular problem. They are sometimes too quick to dismiss valid criticism, and too eager to defend their own ideas even if they don't work out that well; but entrenched in old ways they are certainly not.
