AXIS 2.3.1 released This is a bugfix release, two industries were accepting an incorrect cargo type which was causing errors and broken production.

Is it possible to use Plaza as industry or Apartments as industry instead of hotels?

Yes, both of those work fine together with AXIS

I have a problem with the "salt evaporator" industry of AXIS 2.3.0 since I can't find any suitable place for construction. Whatever I tried, it always gives an error message "Can't construct this industry type here ... site unsuitable"

I'd expect it to be built on or near the sea but this does not work - bug or I just did not figure out the proper conditions to allow contruction?

The salt evaporator (and the fish farm) have somewhat limited layouts, right now they only work on a south-facing shore. Click on the highlighted tile when placing the industry.
