"textContent": "Did Ukraine start conscripting women in Kharkhiv in May 2026 amid \"troop shortages\", as a post and video on social media claims? No, that's not true: The video accompanying the post that made the claim does not show a woman being conscripted, she is instead attempting to stop her husband from being taken by Ukrainian police into a vehicle, seemingly for conscription. At the end of the video, which was originally posted on February 13, 2026, not recently, the woman is not taken into the vehicle but away from it, before the vehicle's door is closed. There are no credible news reports of Ukraine starting to impose mandatory military service on women. Women are not subject to conscription, per the Ukrainian Armed Forces' website.\n\nThe post Fact Check: Video does not show Ukrainian woman being conscripted amid ‘troop shortages’ on May 22, 2026 first appeared on VérifRadar.",
