"textContent": "The Seattle Sounders have dominated the Colorado Rapids during the MLS era, especially at home. Dating back to 2009, the Sounders are 16-2-3 at Lumen Field against the Rapids.\n\nRecent meetings haven’t been quite as dominant, though. The Rapids have tied the Sounders in each of their past two trips to Seattle, most recently erasing a 3-goal deficit to pull out a 3-3 tie.\n\nThat was one of the Sounders’ few slip-ups at home last year, where they went 10-1-6 in MLS play and 15-1-7 against North American opponents. The Sounders now have a 68.88% home-winning percentage during their MLS existence, the third-best mark in MLS history.\n\n# Notes\n\n * The Sounders are 10-5-2 during the MLS era in home openers. The last time they won a home opener was 2023, a 4-0 victory over the Rapids.\n * Gates will now open 60 minutes ahead of the announced kickoff time (6:15 PM), 30 minutes later than in previous seasons.\n * Matt Wells will be making his MLS coaching debut with the Rapids. He had previously been an assistant with Tottenham Hotspur.\n * The Sounders went 3-2-0 during preseason.\n\n\n\n## Enjoying this content?\n\nSign up to get it delivered to your inbox everyday.\n\nSubscribe\n\nEmail sent!
