Human rights are a joke written on a piece of paper. Either that or I'm not human.

Human rights, just like other rights, are things we have collectively , as societies, agreed on. They are not a joke, but they do stand and fall with society enforcing them or not, and you personally demanding they are upheld.

I understand what you are trying to say, that they are "just words", but they are words with attached societal consequences.
