Basilisk • Re: No JIT/WASM on ARM64

I was wondering why there's no JIT for arm64 specifically? is this a temporary thing or will arm64 builds no longer have JIT / WASM?

Our JIT/WASM support for 64-bit ARM is incomplete. Pale Moon and Basilisk have never had a working JIT for that CPU architecture.

If you need WASM and are on an Apple Silicon Mac use the x86 version via Rosetta 2. That's what I do, I have x86 Pale Moon and ARM64 Basilisk installed.

If you're on ARM64/aarch64 Linux/BSD you'll need to emulate the x86 version (perhaps with box64) or use a different browser unfortunately. If you're on hardware that can run both aarch64 and 32-bit ARM you might be able to run the 32-bit ARM version if you compile yourself but I have not tested this.

That's informative to know. I think putting on translation layers makes things slower, tho. Which's the opposite of JIT's purpose.
