Browser Support • Revisiting - Videos (called demos) fail to play at QHub https://hub.quakeworld.nu/games/ - Update
Operating system : Windows 7 SP1 Browser version :PM 34.3.0.1 32-bit or 64-bit browser? : 32
Hello Job, I wanted to say your issue, "No sound again in websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901" that was fixed in PM 34.3.0.1 has fixed an issue for me. Let me explain what mine was.
My reference is to my post, "Videos (called demos) fail to play at QHub https://hub.quakeworld.nu/games/ - Update".
My issue was starting with version 34.2.2 in playing a video, there was an odd, loud "Geiger Counter" clicking noise in the sound. This was separate from the video sounds. Please note, the volume control on the web page of PM did not affect the volume of the loud clicks. The only way to stop the noise was to turn down the volume of the entire OS with the master volume control (bottom right in Windows 7).
I want to thank jobbautista9 for putting forth the issue and Moonchild reproducing it. The "Fixed a webaudio channel mixing regression resulting in broken audio" fixed both of us.
The clicks are gone now. However I do still have a bit of warbling or odd compression sounds, but every new version of Pale Moon has made it better, as did 34.3. To answer Moonchild's statement to me, "Choppy sound is usually an indicator of an overloaded CPU. Check your cpu usage and if it's maxed out,..." I only use 28% CPU playing the video so it is not a maxed out CPU.
I also want to complement the recent 34.3 (and 34.3.0.1) has now fixed a video issue I had in watching the video inside the browser screen. Previously, missing 80% of the screen, I could only watch it in Full Screen mode.
Thank you Job, Moonchild and the other developers for making Pale Moon better.
