"textContent": "OK, so I just tried this out--compiled PM for SSE2, on an AVX-capable system, and without \"--enable-libaom\"--and was able to watch this video just fine.\n\nSo, that's good... The video seems to work with either Dav1d or AOM on SSE2 builds, without regard to whether the system compiler/hardware has AVX capabilities. I suppose if a user is confident that their old SSE2 box can actually decode with Dav1d at speed, then go ahead and give it a go!\n\nIn the meantime, I think I'll leave the build script the way it is, defaulting to AOM on non-AVX builds, with an easy way to override that default.\n\n* * *",
