"textContent": "**Off-topic:**\n\n\n> It is a little surprising to hear that someone from _within_ the EU was uneasy with that alignment being implied, though... I was expecting that to be more of a concern for people outside of the EU.\n\nAs someone from within the EU, it's definitely a concern. The EU leadership feels basically unelected and distant. They also impose both heavy fines and taxes to well-governed (richer) countries while giving boons to badly governed (poor) countries in a true Equity, not Equality situation. Making everyone less well off. Not to mention having their hands in _everything_ , trying to detail the minutiae of things like cucumber size and shapes for example. To say nothing of their intent within IT/internet circles (Chat Control, EUID, etc).\n\n> Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything because I assumed it was just me overthinking, but my only concern about saying it's \"European-developed\" or emphasizing that, is that people might read between the lines and hear it as, \"This project is aligned with the interests of the EU and Brussels,\" which might play well in Europe proper, but may make people in other parts of the world (or even the UK) less comfortable.\n\nI think European-Based would be a better alternative than European developed/development leadership.\n\n* * *",
