"textContent": "A while ago, I offered the tongue-in-cheek idea of a Cloudflare traffic light. I come online after a sublime day to see this idea, on a far greater scale, being entertained in earnest. This message board already exists for reporting site failures. Old, static problems can be discovered using the search bar. An airport-like status board for failed sites would be a convenience for the (prospective) user who would be interested enough to seek out a page on our main site, but not enough to go through the rather simple steps which someone checking now would follow.\n\nThe discussion in this thread also makes it a bit easier to understand why so many random websites and open-source programmes have chosen the same, boring conventions as the great monopolies. They are afraid of appearing old-fashioned in a world where capital defines fashion, for developers interested in their own vision of technical progress are afraid to find themselves saddled with conservative users who would resist their own innovations as they resist the conglomerates.\n\n* * *",
