Adding my two cents into this.

Like Maestro and Athenian say, this is not just some grumble or in-fighting, it's an intentional moving target from a Big Tech company with (tens of) thousands more resources and manpower than an independent browser/engine.

I don't exactly know why this forum is so quick to blame Google for everything, like it's the Voldemort of the internet.

While yes, Google is to blame for some of the issues we face such as WebComponents and WebExtensions, don't get me wrong on that, but there are other factors that Google have little to no control at all such as how fast JavaScript and CSS change/adapt. All programming languages change and add new features over time.

Was the Python 2 to 3 migration an intentional Google moving target to kill off Goanna? No, Python just needed changing, as much as I dislike the change.

The real issue with the browser is mainly the small development team and sometimes the unwillingness to implement certain APIs and JavaScript features that websites need. Is it stupid that a website needs it? Yes, absolutely, don't get me wrong on that, I hate stupid websites and stupid JavaScript as much as the next guy! But does that mean we suddenly don't care about getting that website (and more which rely on those same APIs/features)? No!
