I second use of Session Manager. However I use it to repristinate a standard stored session. In general I never attempt to restore a crashed session (be it a PM crash, a PM freeze interrupted by a kill -9, or a system freeze), I delete it. I have the impression (maybe wrong) that restoring a crashed session may bring back an offending tab causing the crash. Eventually one could try to restore the last pages (not in the standard stored session) from the History
