I am typing this post on my old 14\", HP dv4-5113cl laptop computer which originally came with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. It is now running 64 bit MX Liniux 25.1 (Infinity) Xfce. The motherboard in it is dated (05/02/2012).\n\nI also am now using the newest, at the time of this post, 64 bit (GTK2) linux Pale Moon (34.2.1). This old computer can handle AVX build. You can see this below in my specifications.\n\n\nCODE:\n\n\n System: Kernel: 6.12.74+deb13+1-amd64 arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 14.2.0 clocksource: tsc avail: hpet,acpi_pm parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.12.74+deb13+1-amd64 root=UUID=<filter> ro quiet splash Desktop: Xfce v: 4.20.1 tk: Gtk v: 3.24.48 wm: xfwm4 v: 4.20.0 with: xfce4-panel tools: avail: xfce4-screensaver vt: 7 dm: LightDM v: 1.32.0 Distro: MX-25.1_x64 Infinity Nov 9 2025 base: Debian GNU/Linux 13 (trixie)Machine: Type: Laptop System: Hewlett-Packard product: HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC v: 078C110014245110000620100 serial: <superuser required> Chassis: type: 10 serial: <superuser required> Mobo: Hewlett-Packard model: 1836 v: 53.3A serial: <superuser required> part-nu: B5W46UA#ABA uuid: <superuser required> UEFI-[Legacy]: Insyde v: F.15 date: 05/02/2012CPU: Info: model: Intel Core i5-3210M bits: 64 type: MT MCP arch: Ivy Bridge gen: core 3 level: v2 built: 2012-15 process: Intel 22nm family: 6 model-id: 0x3A (58) stepping: 9 microcode: 0x21 Topology: cpus: 1x dies: 1 clusters: 2 cores: 2 threads: 4 tpc: 2 smt: enabled cache: L1: 128 KiB desc: d-2x32 KiB;
